HOME Minister Muhyiddin Yassin will return to work next week and take his oath of office as Pagoh MP on Tuesday.

He will, however, still have to undergo follow-up treatment, including chemotherapy, for six months after removing a growth from his pancreas, a statement from the ministry said.

“He is getting better and will return to work next week. He will take his oath as member of Parliament for Pagoh in the Dewan Rakyat on August 14 and will attend several meetings,” Muhyiddin’s press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim posted on the minister’s Facebook today.

The follow-up treatment is to prevent a recurrence of the growth, Hafiz added.

The Bersatu president will also be limited in the number of official duties he can perform during the coming months while he undergoes treatment.

Muhyiddin had surgery early last month to remove the growth and began medical leave on July 12 for a month. – August 11, 2018.
