4-month-old boy is youngest Covid victim

THE coronavirus today claimed its youngest victim yet in Malaysia – a four-month-old boy, in Sabah.

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the baby was the 812th victim in the country.

He said the infant, which had heart problems, died in Hospital Tawau.

The youngest known virus victim before this, a one-year-old girl, was also in Sabah.

Malaysia today reported 17 deaths from Covid-19, for a death toll of 826. 

More than 4,500 new infections were logged overnight, taking the number of active cases near the 50,000 mark. 

Of these, 308 were in intensive care, 135 of them requiring respiratory support.

There were 4,092 recoveries today, to make it 181,886 recoveries so far. – February 4, 2021.
